This class is perfect for the beginner stitcher and anyone wanting a refresher on the proper techniques for needlepoint. During this two hour workshop, we learn the whys and the hows of needlework, ranging from the topic of stretcher bars, selecting the proper needle size and why it matters, the various anchoring techniques and deciding the best way to tie off, and determining where on the canvas to start with tent stich and in which direction to stitch. In addition, we will also discuss the different types of threads used in needlepoint, how to properly stitch them and, yes, that includes using the proper tools. We will also discuss how to recognize the different thread counts for canvases and how to "read" the canvas thread directions.
